MPS FoundationIn the fall of 2004, a group of area citizens saw an opportunity to enhance education and reward creative teachers by providing funding for innovative classroom projects. They created the Mustang Public Schools Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization devoted to making a difference in the education of all of Mustang’s children.
Making a DifferenceTwice a year, Mustang’s teachers will have the opportunity to submit a proposal for a classroom project. A committee will review the entries and grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded for select proposals. Within weeks, a lesson on aerodynamics might take fl ight. Perhaps the Gettysburg address will come to life for sixth graders or microsystems will thrive for high schoolers. The possibilities are only limited by a teacher’s ingenuity and the funds the Foundation has to put back into the classroom.
